ATTEMPTED CARJACKING LEAVES SUSPECT WOUNDED
(Frisco-February 27, 2007)
Frisco police officers responded to an attempted carjacking at the Wade Crossing Apartments, 9399 Wade Blvd. The victim, a 60 year old Frisco resident, reported that she was approached by a Hispanic male in the parking lot near her apartment and he demanded that she give him her car keys. When she refused, he produced a gun and a scuffle ensued between the two. The suspect was shot once in the abdomen during the struggle. The victim said that the suspect took the gun back and then fled the scene on foot.
Officers located the suspect outside of the Vineyard Apartments, directly across from the crime scene. He was transported to Parkland by CareFlite in critical condition. He was undergoing surgery at the time of this release.
The names of the victim and suspect are not being released by police at this time pending further investigation.
