02-05-2007  - SECTION OF MAIN STREET CLOSED THROUGH 1 A.M.

(February 5, 2007)  A section of Main Street -- between Preston Road and Independence -- will be closed through 1 a.m. early tomorrow morning (Tuesday, February 6) while city crews work to repair a traffic signal.

    The repairs are necessary following a major traffic accident that happened at 5:35 p.m. this evening near the intersection of Main Street and Hillcrest.

    A motorist traveling eastbound on Main Street hit a traffic signal, which resulted in sagging signal wires and posed a threat to large vehicles.

    The driver involved in the single car accident was transported to Centennial Medical Center in Frisco.  The driver's injuries are considered minor.
