HOUSE FIRE SUSPICIOUS; CONTINUES TO BURN AT THIS HOUR

(January 6, 2007) Investigators say a house fire tonight in Frisco is suspicious. The fire was first reported at 8:41 p.m. tonight and continues to burn at this hour

at #3 Riva Ridge, which is located in Stonebriar Estates. Firefighters say the fire is under control and no other homes are threatened. Investigators say the single story home was unoccupied and has been vacant for

several years. Investigators add, firefighters responded to another suspicious fire at the same home approximately a year ago. In that case, a small fire was set in a bedroom. The home is approximately 4500 square feet and is valued at an estimated $500,000. Firefighters are using two aerial ladder trucks and three engines to battle the fire at this hour.

FIRE DESTROYS VACANT HOME; DAMAGES ESTIMATED AT $700,000

(January 6, 2007) Tonight’s house fire -- described as suspicious by Frisco Fire investigators – destroyed a vacant home located in Stonebriar Estates. Investigators are now estimating total losses at approximately $700,000.

The fire was extinguished just before 11 p.m. tonight. No injuries are reported.

The fire was first reported at 8:41 p. at #3 Riva Ridge, which is located in Stonebriar Estates. Firefighters had the blaze under control by 9:43 p.m.

Firefighters say the single story home, measuring approximately 4500 square feet, has been vacant for years.

While investigators continue to call the fire ‘suspicious’, the exact cause is unknown at this time and is under investigation.
