Mayor Maher Maso

was elected as Mayor of Frisco in May 2008 with a 77% margin of victory. After serving the Frisco City Council for seven years, Mayor Maso was encouraged by his many friends and supporters to seek the office of Mayor. With their help, Mayor Maso was successfully sworn as the new Mayor,

With over 34,000 students in just the Frisco ISD and 20,000 children below kindergarten age, Frisco is known as the best place to raise a family. Frisco also has a reputation as the youth sports capital of the world.

Frisco is home to the professional soccer team FC Dallas along with being home for the Frisco Roughriders Double-A Texas Rangers affiliate team. Frisco is also the corporate home of the Dallas Stars professional hockey team along with being their practice facility and home for the Texas Tornado hockey team. The Dallas Mavericks D-League NBA team now also calls Frisco home. Numerous other sport teams and facilities exist in Frisco including World Olympic Gymnastics Academy, home of Olympic Gold Champions Carly Patterson and Nastia Liukin, the Field House indoor sports facility, sports village, Kurt Thomas gymnastics, Tennis facilities and much more!
